According to The Dallas Morning News, Cristan Jerri Melancon, 18, was suspected of driving under the influence. She was arrested this morning after an accident that killed motorcyclist Jason Wakeford, 30, in Keller, authorities said. Melancon faces a charge of intoxication manslaughter in the death of Wakeford.
The biker was traveling eastbound on Wall Price Keller Road near Main Street at about 12:30 a.m. when he collided with a Jeep Wrangler, driven by Melancon. Authorities say the driver stopped at a stop sign at West Conchos Circle when she pulled out onto Wall Price Keller. Wakeford, who was knocked off his bike, was pronounced dead about an hour after reaching the hospital.
